New Dredge Arrives
Cabo Riviera has acquired a larger dredge to make sure that Phase I construction remains on schedule and is delivered on-time. This dredge is twice the size of our first one and will double in the amount of soil and sand that it will dredge up. It is now in the beginning stages of assembly and should be in the water by next week.

A Beautiful Day at Cabo Riviera
Hurricane Rick was a strong threat to the Baja Peninsula but that is all that Rick remained. Rick managed to stay off the coast of Los Cabos and kick up a few waves and give us some much needed rain. What surprised me most was how clear the water was today at Cabo Riviera after all that storm action. Today had to have been one of the prettiest days out there.
Hurricane Rick
This morning the Baja Peninsula enforced a hurricane watch on the Southern tip of Baja including the Los Cabos and La Paz areas. We are keep a close watch on the hurricane that was a catergory 5 a day ago and is now been reduced to a catergory 2 as of 11AM this morning. The forecast is that it will still decrease in strength as it approaches Baja.
We are all taking precautions for the arrival of this hurricane but around town and at Cabo Riviera, the mood is light and calm. I was on the breakwaters this morning looking at cute little 2 foot waves while in San Jose del Cabo I am listening to 10 foot waves crashing on the beach. It is an amazing sight to see but not a good day to go out surfing.

The Trek Home
This morning I went out early to see what kind of action was going on at the beach in Cabo Riviera. Well it looks like one of the turtle nests have hatched and the baby sea turtles had made their mad dash home into the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez. I am bummed I missed it but happy to see so many trails leading from the nest to the ocean. One of the trails went the opposite direction, did a few circles and then headed to the water. That little one must have been a little dazed and confused from all the excitement. Hopefully I will be there right on time next time around.

Sea Turtle Nests at Cabo Riviera
Over 50 Sea Turtle nests have been spotted and properly marked on the 2 mile stretch of white sand beach that Cabo Riviera sits on. Although it is unknown at this time what kind of sea turtle these nests belong to, the beaches in Los Cabos have been the nesting place for the Olive Ridley and the highly endangered Leatherback turtles for many years.

More Turtle Nests
The Olive Ridley sea turtle has an olive-green shell and really strong jaws. Their favorite meals consist of crabs, clams, mussels and shrimp. They are born on the beach but live in the ocean. After 8 years in the water, a female will be ready to lay her eggs. She lays eggs every year, unlike most sea turtles which nest every two to three years. Once she is done laying her eggs she will crawl back to sea and never return back to her eggs. After about 45 days the baby sea turtles will hatch. They are tiny and black and less than two inches long. They make a mad dash for their new home in the ocean once they come out of their sandy nest on the beach. Sea Turtles have been known to return to the very same beach they were born to lay their eggs.

The Leatherback sea turtle has a barrel-shaped shell made of rubbery skin. It’s jaws are more like scissors and they love to eat jellyfish. The leatherbacks are the largest of the sea turtle species. It is estimated that there are less than 5,000 Leatherbacks in the Pacific ocean.

Digging, Digging, and More Digging
There is more than enough dirt and sand for the guys at Cabo Riviera to dig, and most of the energy is surrounding the marina excavation. Trucks were arriving one after another to haul dirt and sand away from the Marina entrance to be placed strategically around the Cabo Riviera resort. It’s great that Cabo Riviera has their own dirt and sand fill right on site. I found it interesting just how many trucks were being loaded in the 10 minute time span I was out there. In 10 minutes one hydraulic excavator loaded 4 trucks (one after another) and drove away.
High 5 to Los Cabos!
Los Cabos has kicked off the high season with a high-5. Five Cruise ships anchored in Cabo San Lucas bay yesterday with 11,000 tourist cruising the streets shopping and enjoying the wonderful weather and warm waters. What a great start to what I feel will be a big season.

Beachfront LOT Construction
If I were going to buy a beachfront LOT at Cabo Riviera this is exactly how I would like it done. The expertise and thought process that goes into this development is wonderful.

My Favorite LOT
I always found it hard to choose my favorite LOTS in Cabo Riviera because they all have such wonderful attributes. Well the other day it was a piece of cake choosing a favorite that was already a real winner in my eyes.
We all know the beach front LOTS are nothing less than the best. Who wouldn’t want 100 feet of ocean/beach front view on one of the most gorgeous beaches in Los Cabos. Swimmable beach too I might add. But to also get 100 feet in back of your home to dock a boat, yacht, or water craft. I mean, come on! So I am not even going to begin to choose a favorite beach front LOT. But I will tell you which Marina LOT recently felt like a gold mine to me.
I believe in signs. I don’t always look for them but when I do take notice I really wrap my energy around them. The topic of our sales meeting that morning was “know your favorite LOTS.” I already mentioned above that it was a difficult decision choosing my favorites as I like so many of them. I was able to narrow it down to three. One on the Golf Course, and two on the Marina. As we started touring Cabo Riviera and drove onto isla Golindrinas (MZA 12) there was my sign that I had picked the best Marina LOT. There on LOT #24 was a beautiful family of resting wild horses. Not only does LOT #24 have beautiful Mountain Views (not seen in this photo), great location within the Marina, close proximity to the Artist Village and entrance, and is one of the best prices, but now it also has the blessing of a family happy horses as well. This LOT will definitely be the next one to sell. It’s a sign.
